We just got back from a week long adventure through the Fraser Canyon (like BC's version of the Grand Canyon) and up to Prince Geroge. Of course, along the way stopping at 100 mile, Quesnel and Barkerville.
I stupidly brought summer clothes, hardly any colder clothes for the babe. I was thinking well it's still 25 here. It's still gonna be warm there...
HAHA! It's the bloody North! N-O-R-T-H...Bella... NORTH!! North = cold or at least = colder than SOUTH.
I learned my lesson. Always bring warm clothes and hot clothes.
One night we slept outside of Wells,BC which is about 20 mins to Barkerville (one of the most successful Gold Rush Towns around)... well, it was so darn cold I think it may have dropped to 3-4 degrees and this is september first we're talking about!
The people working at Barkerville also pointed out the early snow on a nearby mountain.
I'd say fall is rolling in fast and winter is just around the corner.
My husband decided once we visited PG for 6 hours it was time to book it home. We drove straight through the night, through some of the most trecherous, and moose loaded highway's there was. I was the animal spotter.
We did see 2 moose, 3 deer, 3 otters and a bear along our way but none were in front of the truck luckily!
Most nights we slept in the truck, and our plan was to use our tent but my husband after one cold night in the truck, turned the engine on to get us warm and melted the tent's bottom tarp, that had been placed under the truck to create room for us, the baby and the dog.
But it was great and it was our last woooraw to summer. We actually said we weren't going to be doing anything all summer, but who were we kidding? We camped, laughed, joked and traveled! That's just what we do!
So farewell summer, hello Fall!
Now time for some pictures right?
